Kosovo’s top court called to intervene over institutional mess as biggest party declares Parliament “constituted” and new-old government “elected” in breach of deadline and rules

Prishtina, 13 September 2026, dtt-net.com – The Parliament of Kosovo, dominated by the biggest party Vetevendosje (LVV) and its ally parties, was declared “constituted” today and was followed with voting of new-old government of LVV’s leader Albin Kurti after June early elections, but two opposition parties say the Constitutional Court must intervene citing breach of 30-day deadline ruled last year by the top court for constitution of legislative body which expired on August 7 and other related breaches. At the same time, non-election of country’s President amid divisions between the LVV and opponent parties, is a second situation which says that the country is moving to new elections again later this year.
