No breakthrough from seventh meeting of 2 Kosovo parties’ leaders over institutional crisis

Prishtina, 30 August 2026, dtt-net.com - Leaders of two Kosovo opponent parties met late last night for the seventh time since last month, discussing a way out over ongoing institutional deadlock following June 7 early parliamentary elections, but no deal was reached over names of candidates for new President of the country. “When we would have results from our side, we would have news for you”, the leader of the winning party of June elections, Vetevendosje (LVV), Albin Kurti, told reporters briefly after the meeting with the leader of the opposition Democratic League (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku. The two continue refusing to unveil names of candidates on their lists, however.
