Skopje, 20 March 2025, dtt-net.com – Funeral services were held today in North Macedonia for 59 victims, of which 6 aged under 18, of Sunday nightclub fire in Kocani town.
Hundreds gathered in Kocani at the farewell ceremony to their beloved ones who died in the facility operating under forged licence as nightclub and in breach of security measures.
Most of the victims are buried in Kocani and funerals took place also in five other towns, including in capital Skopje.
180 others are suffering from burns, of which 101 have been sent abroad for treatment and the others in local hospitals, according to the health ministry.
Authorities have detained around 20 people so far as the investigation of determining the circumstances continues.
Following the tragic accident of Sunday, authorities have also launched controls across the country of nightclubs.
