Skopje, 12 April 2026, dtt-net.com – Macedonian social-democrat opposition party welcomed election defeat of Viktor Orban in Sunday election, saying that the former conservative and sentenced prime minister of North Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, who was granted asylum by Orban’s government, will be not benefit Budapest protection anymore.
“Tonight Hungary said ENOUGH! Orban's undemocratic regime has fallen – just as we have been announcing for months. The criminal organization VMRO is left without its only ally in the EU. No more hiding of Gruevski in Budapest, no more business combinations,” SDSM’s leader Venko Filipce said through X after election victory of Magyar and his Tisza party.
