Only 11% of ethnic Macedonians in favour of making constitutional changes imposed by Bulgaria for EU entry process to North Macedonia (poll)

Skopje, 02 February 2026, dtt-net.com – Only 11% of ethnic Macedonians are in favour of undergoing constitutional changes to include Bulgarian community, while 27% are in favour of stopping EU membership process, according to a new opinion survey. When asked “Which changes you think should be made on the path towards the European Union?”, 57% of ethnic Albanians answered in favour of making the changes imposed by Bulgaria and embraced by 26 other member states of the EU in 2022, while only 7% of ethnic Albanians agree to stop membership negotiations with the EU, which are freezed for more than 3 years already because of Bulgaria veto right within the European bloc, according to the survey conducted by the Skopje-based Institute for Democracy Societas Civilis-Skopje (IDSCS).
