Serbia plans to have first gas-fired power plant in four years

Belgrade, 08 April 2026, dtt-net.com – Serbian government has accelerated talks with Azerbaijani authorities and SOCAR company for construction of country’s first gas-fired power plant. Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said Wednesday that plans are to have constructed plant in 2030 by SOCAR company and to be supplied with Azeri gas which reaches the country through Bulgaria and Greece from the EU TAP gas pipeline.
