Switzerland could increase troops numbers in Kosovo mission as NATO members about to reduce

Prishtina, 16 June 2026, dtt-net.com – A week after NATO military department announced plans for reducing troops levels of Kosovo peacekeeping mission to pre-2023 level, Swiss Parliament decided to increase its troops number from current 200 to nearly 300 if need be. The Senate today agreed for eventual troops increase for additional 85 to the NATO-led KFOR mission, Swiss media reported. The authorisation given to Swiss government comes a week after the national two-chamber parliament extended troops mission until 2029.
