Prishtina, 12 August 2026, dtt-net.com – Tensions are mounting fast between opponent political parties in Kosovo, as the caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti refuses to resume constitutive session of Parliament following June 7 early elections without a political agreement first over election of new President which he is failing to reach with his opponents, however.
Skirmishes, pushes, and verbal disputes erupted today in the main hall of the Parliament between the two sides, as lawmakers of two opposition parties showed up at 11:00 calling Kurti and his Vetevendosje (LVV) party to resume constitutive session which he and the temporary chairperson of the Parliament from LVV, Avni Dehari, interrupted twice and adjourned it for unknown date, although the 30-day constitutional deadline for constituting the parliament ended on August 7, a month after election results were certified.
