Petition launched in Kosovo seeking to criminalize deliberate constitutional breaches by officials and lawmakers

Prishtina, 17 August 2026, dtt-net.com – A Kosovan civic society organization is collecting signatures for a petition seeking to amend and supplement criminal code of the country, calling to criminalize refusal by officials to implement decisions of the Constitutional Court and also ban use of public finances for electoral purposes during and pre-election periods. The Kosovo Law Institute (KLI) is collecting signatures since last month in seven biggest towns: Prishtina, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Peja, Prizren, and Gjakova.
