EU member states between “gradual” and “unconditional” lifting of sanctions on Kosovo

Brussels, 24 April 2024, dtt-net.com – EU member states have launched consultations of how and when should punitive political and financial measures of June last year on Kosovo be lifted, with a group of countries led by Germany, France and Italy favouring conditional “gradual approach” and other countries being in favour of immediate and “unconditional” lifting of all measures, according to EU sources, while the report of the chief of diplomacy Josep Borrell following Sunday’s failed referendum for dismissal of four non-Serb mayors in Kosovo north is expected “soon”.
