Brussels/Skopje, 19 February 2026, dtt-net.com – A draft-report of the European Parliament (EP) written by an Austrian member calls once again North Macedonia Parliament to make constitutional changes to include Bulgarian community in it, a condition imposed by Bulgaria and embraced by 26 other countries of the EU and the previous government in Skopje, but resisted by the current conservative Macedonian ruling party which dominates the 120-seat legislative body.
Thomas Waitz said in his text send to EP’s Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) that the “reform momentum requires renewed political commitment, including for the necessary constitutional amendments…,” over the deal of 2022.
