Prishtina, 07 August 2026, dtt-net.com – Kosovo prosecution and police said today that a third mass grave is found in northern Serb-predominantly municipality of Zubin Potok, as exhumations of human remain in two others, believed to be of Albanian civilians abducted in Aprill 1999 by Serbia forces, continue. “The Special Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, within the framework of the ongoing investigative actions related to the war crimes case in Zubin Potok, announces that during the continuation of the field operations, the presence of mortal remains has been identified and confirmed at the third suspected location,” the two said in a joint media release.
“The necessary examinations and investigative procedures are being conducted at this location, in full coordination between the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Kosovo Police, and other competent institutions, in order to clarify all the circumstances,” reads the release.

In the first mass grave remains of at least six bodies are uncovered and in the second of at least four.
Authorities suspect that remains in all three mass graves belong to 23 Albanian civilians of Mitrovica town area abducted by Serbia forces in April 1999.
Three Serb suspects are arrested so far by Kosovan police over the new mass graves found in Zubin Potok.
Nearly 13,000 Albanian civilians were massacred by Serbia forces, 20,000 girls and women raped, 120,000 houses destroyed and more than 800 000 deported forcibly to Albania and North Macedonia during the 1998-1999 war of independence from Serbia.
More than 1500 civilians are still missing, of which more than 500 Serbs believed to be killed by members of Kosovo Albanian guerilla, KLA, in revenge.
