Kosovo enters into institutional deadlock as parliament fails to elect speaker

Share:

Prishtina, 19 April 2025, dtt-net.com – A nominee from the Vetevendosje (LVV) party of former Kosovan premier Albin Kurti, today did not get sufficient votes for parliament’s speaker post, which sends the country into an institutional deadlock after February 9 elections, as there are no constitutional deadlines to exit from the situation created, thus leaving an eventual compromise between political parties the only possibility to exit from the deadlock and pave the way for election of new government.
