Supported by Serbia, Russia and China, Serb entity in Bosnia calls UN top body to close EU-backed office

Sarajevo, 26 May 2026, dtt-net.com - The Parliament of Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) today in a text adopted called the United Nations Security Council to close the Office of High Representative (OHR) which is charged of supervising implementation of civilian aspects of 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement. Serb entity, Serbia, Russia and China want the office terminated, contrary to the EU, which wants its role still continued amid deep divisions between Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats over country’s future and especially burdened with secessionist threats by pro-Russia entity’s leadership. The Declaration of the 83-seat body adopted with 57 votes of 60 lawmakers present, with none against and no abstentions, calls the UN Security Council to “urgently” close OHR office.
