3 Kosovo leaders pledge to form autonomous body for Serb minority “upon” entry in Council of Europe

Prishtina/Strasbourg, 27 March 2024, dtt-net.com – The President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, the Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Speaker of Parliament Gllauk Konjufca, have promised in a letter to the Council of Europe rapporteur Dora Bakoyannis, that they will form the what is named “Association of Serb-majority Municipalities (ASM)” and also meet other commitments which relate to judiciary, rule of law, human rights and protection of ‘non-majority communities’ “upon Kosova becoming a member state of the Council of Europe”, with the letter being incorporated in the report approved today by the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) which recommends membership of Kosovo in the Strasbourg-based organization.
