Brussels, 07 October 2026, dtt-net.com – Workforce in solar power and battery storage businesses in 27 EU member countries reached to 982 000 last year, installing 69 GW/h, according to a new report.
According to the Brussels-based SolarPowerEurope organization, employment in the solar-linked business last year in the European bloc increased for 1% last year, which is “twice as fast” as overall EU employment, of which 874,000 in solar power installations and 108,000 I battery storage.
But the organization says that EU decision makers should not lose sight and undertake measures to maintain the trend by focusing also in post-installations period, maintenance service respectively, in the broader context of increasing further renewable electricity production.
“Europe needs to keep solar growing, accelerate electrification, expand grids and energy storage, and strengthen its industrial base to build resilience. None of this is new. But if we want a stronger, more competitive and secure Europe, we must now pursue this agenda with renewed urgency and full force,” SolarPowerEurope called EU governments and institutions…
