13 June 2026, dtt-net.com – China is set to lead worldwide in all type of energy investments this year, with the United States following second, and the EU third, while China comes first in the list when it comes to investments in renewables too, according to a new report of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
According to agency’s estimates, China total investments are set to reach at USD 945 billion in 2026, followed by the United States at USD 615 billion and the European Union at USD 440 billion.
When it comes to investments in renewables, the European Union comes second in the list, and is set to reach up to USD 105 billion, especially in onshore wind, while offshore wind faces near-term challenges that are being addressed through new cross-border industrial and infrastructure initiatives, according to IEA.
