EU and member states help North Macedonia with donations aimed at better fight against illegal migration

Skopje, 10 June 2026, dtt-net.com - Four off-road vehicles, three vans, video cameras, heart rate detectors and document verification equipment are donated today to the police of North Macedonia by the EU, and governments of Austria, Germany, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia, aimed at helping local authorities in better control of borders in the fight against illegal migration in its attempts to reach EU territory through Western Balkans route. North Macedonia’s Interior Minister Pance Toskovski said at the hand-over ceremony that the donation will “contribute to greater mobility, better border control and a more effective fight against migrant smuggling and human trafficking.”
