Following the start of the air strikes, the RFJ and Serbian forces began their extensive and systematic campaign for the killing and violent expulsion of Kosovo Albanians. NATO bombings stopped Serbia’s genocidal project to exterminate Albanians. With the help of NATO allies we achieved Kosovo’s freedom, rooted in the blood of martyrs and martyrs. May the memory of all fallen for the freedom we enjoy be eternal!”, Kurti said in a press statement.
NATO air-strikes lasted until June 12, 1999 and the war ended on that date.
